Q: Who are your suppliers and why should we work with you?
A: Summit Windows Fashion uses a variety of suppliers including Maxxmar, Shade-O-Matic, Blinds by Vertican and various local suppliers to meet everyone’s budgets and needs. All our suppliers are proudly Canadian and since we work closely with these suppliers, we get a lower discount to save you money. We also provide free in-house estimates to ensure that your blinds will be a perfect fit.

Q: How do I choose which Window Blinds/Shutters that’s right for me?
A: There are three main factors to consider when choosing custom window treatments; function, fashion, and budget. Please contact us by phone or email to speak with a sales representative so that we can help you determine the best product to meet your needs.

Q: How long will it take to have my windows installed?
A: The turn-around time when we receive shipment from our suppliers vary depending on the product that you order. However, from the date that we sign off on the quote, it will take 3-5 weeks for the customized products arrive to our showroom, we will let you know when your supply arrives and it will take approximately another week for installation to be complete.

Q: How do we pay for our product?
A: We require 50% deposit from when we sign off on the quote, the remaining balance will be due upon completion of installation. We accept all types of payment including cash, cheque, visa, e-transfer.

Q: What are the differences between custom and ready-made window blinds?
A: Custom-made blinds are manufactured to your specifications to fit your window opening exactly; they feature the highest quality components and come in a wide variety of colors and materials. Ready-made blinds are typically found locally in a local hardware store. They are the typical choice of budget conscience consumers; they are manufactured in various standard sizes and in a limited number of colours. Working with Summit Windows Fashion, we customize your blinds to suit your needs and budget and you will notice that our prices are not too much more than the ready-made window blinds.

Q: Are your products fire resistant?
A: We have a variety of vertical blinds, pleated shades, roller shades, roman shades, panel track fabrics, shutters, as well as aluminum horizontal blinds which are rated for their fire resistance. Safety is one of our top priorities to you and your family.

Q: I’ve heard that the cords from blinds can pose a risk to children, what does your company provide to reduce these risks?
A: We work with suppliers that are leaders in the Canadian Industry ensuring that our blinds are equipped with the latest child safety features. Some of our suppliers are equipped with breakaway cord tassels, cord stops and a variety of cord cleats to protect children from this strangulation hazard. We also provide cordless, automation or motorized options so that it eliminates foul play with the cords.

Q: How do I get repairs for my blinds/shutters or replacement parts?
A: If you’ve purchased the blinds through Summit Windows Fashion, the first step is to contact us by phone or email to determine if the repair is covered under the supplier’s limited lifetime warranty. When the issue has been determined, the dealer is issued a return number, which is used to track your repair when it is returned to our suppliers. The costs of shipping and installation are not the responsibility of us but we will do our best we can to ensure that you get the best possible service through this process.

Q: How do I measure for an inside or outside mount?
A: We highly recommend that you contact us as we do provide a free in-home estimate and a professional will come to your house to measure your windows. If you would like to measure it yourself, we can provide you with best practices guidelines.

Q: I’m not happy with the product I ordered, can I exchange it?
A: Because all our products are custom made, our products are not returnable or exchangeable unless the product is defective according to the Limited Lifetime Warranty. However, you can discuss your concerns with us to determine what the possible solutions are.

Q: How do I clean my custom window treatments?
A: There are different cleaning methods suggested for each of our products. When you receive your custom blind from us, it will be supplied with specific instructions for its care and maintenance.
